After merging the Environmental Board and the Environmental Inspectorate and taking over the management of the joint organization, Riho Kuppart has decided not to continue as the Director General of the Environmental Board.

"I have decided to leave the Environmental Board. We have merged two dignified institutions and have created a team which is united. I would like to thank all my colleagues who have wholeheartedly contributed to create a strong and customer-oriented Environmental Board. The work to redesign the Board's services continues. Considering the growing importance of environmental matters, the Environmental Board faces major challenges. I am sure that the current team can do it all perfectly," said Riho Kuppart.

Until the appointment of the new Director General, Olav Avarsalu, the current Deputy Director General, will assume his duties.

Riho Kuppart started working as the Director General of the Environmental Board on the 1st of January 2019.
